Kate Garraway was forced to change her dress during Good Morning Britain after getting involved in a custard fight.

Thursday's instalment of the daytime show started on a particularly messy note as the presenter, 51, dipped her whole arm into a bucket of custard along with a watermelon to recreate the World Cup trophy.

Clearly amused, Sean Fletcher informed Kate: 'I think you should lick that off' -causing chaos to ensue as she shamelessly started chucking custard at him.'

Copy Kate in a peachy pink pencil dress from Asos

Kate Garraway wore not one but two versions of the same dress on Good Morning Britain today!

She always looks perfectly put together when hosting the show thanks to stylist Debbie Harper. This coral pink dress is from none other than Asos and the waffle texture is a nice touch. The fitted shape is perfect for showing off your figure, and we love the flattering sleeves and split at the back.

Both the blue and pink options have now sold out, but there's a similar pencil dress just waiting to be added to your shopping basket (click right).

Or think pink and check out the best of the rest in our edit below. Simply add a classic pair of court heels and swept-up hair for a sophisticated look.

Sean's comment had clearly irked Kate as she quipped back: 'Do you? (think I should lick the custard off).'

Immediately she started hurling huge amounts of the yummy mixture in his direction, completely covering his slick suit.

As Kate's co-host Susanna Reid shrieked in horror on her other side, Kate explained to viewers: 'He's been so cheeky all morning!'

Sean appeared to take the custard attack in his stride as he sat there giggling while jokingly asking: 'Did she just do that?'

Despite Kate's goal to teach Sean a lesson, she too ended up covered in custard and was forced to change out of her light blue ensemble into a pretty pink dress during the ad break.

Sean was also seen being fussed over by GMB's team to remove as much trace of the custard as possible.

Kate's lighthearted display comes after she admitted to Fit & Well magazine that since turning 50 she's in better shape than ever and eats avocados to help her overcome mid-morning sugar cravings.

The ITV broadcaster revealed that reaching her birthday milestone gave her the opportunity to focus on her wellbeing and re-evaluate how she wants to spend the next decade.

She shared: 'Half of my life, even if I live to 100, is done. It starts to make you re-evaluate how you want to spend the next years – you want to make them as many as possible, so you eat to be healthy as opposed to being thin.'

Having getting up at 3am for over two decades, the mother-of-two explained that revamping her diet helped her stay healthy and increase her energy levels after she realised that she had been eating loads of sugar.

She said: 'I tried different popular diets and I realised, because of the crazy shifts I do, I regulated my energy with sugar bursts. I didn’t think I ate a lot of sugar but by 8am I’ve always had loads of chocolate.'
